We did a run, but without the O-ring. The O-ring on the USP 45C had no effect. The lockup on the compacts stays locked up longer than standard length barrels Extended and threaded same as Tactical 45. In stock $265 + shipping
As an additional benefit, because
of it’s elastometric nature, the O ring serves to accept the brunt of
the shock load going through the pistol at time of ignition. At ignition,
some pretty violent forces are taking place - the first reaction the barrel
demonstrates is in the way of an upward jump which shows itself as muzzle
jump. Without the O ring, when the barrel reacts upward, you have metal to
metal contact between the barrel and slide opening. With the O ring system,
you have a metal to rubber to metal contact path, further compressing the
synthetic compound and using the synthetic compound as an energy sink for
the sharp spike of the barrel’s upward reaction to the energy released
at ignition.
Another advantage to the O ring bushing system: unlike the tight and high toleranced bushing systems of the 1911 pistol design, the O ring is far more forgiving of hazards and imperfections thrown at it by the environment - namely wind born sand and grit. Ever been to an IPSC match and on windy and dry days, seen the timed event competitors with their race guns (running $2500 or better) walking around with plastic freezer bags over their holstered weapons? They’re concerned about windborn sand or grit getting onto their barrel or in the bushing - as the slightest piece of grit will cause their gun to jam when they least want it to. The O ring simply wipes away most any grit in it’s path (similar to a seal on a motorcycle fork) and the grit or sand it doesn’t, it simply compresses around.
The more we looked at this design,
the more we realized the engineer at HK that innovated this concept had earned
his retirement pay. Every way we looked at it, it's hard to improve on.

*Premium Barrels use Button Rifling. These barrels will require some stoning of the chamber hood by the customer. Unthreaded CCF Premium Barrel
For those not wanting their pistol to fall into the "assault weapon" classification and requiring registration Jan 1, 2001, we did a small run of our premium barrels with button rifling - we left these barrels unthreaded and they are the same length as the original barrel. This barrel leaves the user with the option of having threads installed at a later date and there is a possibility we will do a run of our flash suppressor made to mount without threads similar to the manner the Carbon 15 pistol, with three set screws - that flash is not a confirmed option at this date. $275.00
